Meet Stan Foster A.K.A. Stan the Stair Man, is the owner and operator of a Stan’s Stair Shop.
Stan entered the stairbuilding profession as a self-taught woodworker and he’s spent the last 20 years perfecting his craftsmanship, which is as much an art form as it is a trade. Stan handcrafts custom curved staircases at his shop in Paxton Illinois and transports them to the client’s location where they’re set into place. The railings and spindles are also installed on site. The end result is a truly custom-fit and impressive set of steps.
When he’s not turning out a stairway, Stan passes his time by working on other hobbies and spending time with his family.
Stan's Philosophy
“Building stairways is a fun occupation and I refuse to call it work. I am very passionate about it and feel very fortunate to be in this trade. I love building stairways!”.
